Venezuela President Nicholas Maduro demanded that the European Union stop sanctions against Venezuela.
He stated this on the air of the state television channel Venezolana de Televisión.
Maduro expressed hope for a new stage in relations with European states, based on mutual respect.
He emphasized that at the EU summit in Brussels – the community of Latin American and Caribbean states (Selak) “heard Venezuela’s voice, which requires the cessation of sanctions, blockade, the cessation against Venezuela and respect for Venezuela”.
Maduro expressed the hope that relations with Europe would reach a new level, in accordance with the principles of mutual respect, cooperation.
