Venezuela President Nicholas Maduro arrived in Tehran to negotiate with senior Iranian officials, Tasnim reports.
Maduro arrived in Iran on Friday at the head of a high -ranking political and economic delegation on a two -day official visit at the invitation of President Iran Ebrahim Raisi.
The President of Venezuela will meet his Iranian colleague and take part in the meeting of senior officials of both countries.
Iran and Venezuela work closely to soften the consequences of sanctions, in particular, aimed at the energy sector, the agency notes.
Iran supplies fuel and equipment necessary for oil refineries in Venezuela, despite the US pressure on the country’s transport and trading services.
Venezuela also received large supplies of condensate, heavy oil diluent, from Iran.
