Magate is working on sending an international group of experts to Ukraine to check the nuclear security of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant held by Russia, the head of the agency Rafael Grossy said, EURONEWS reports.
According to Grossy, the Ukrainian authorities turned to him and the UN Secretary General with a request to achieve the liberation of the object – the largest nuclear power plant in Ukraine and Europe – and expressed serious fears in connection with the working conditions at the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant.
The Ukrainian regulator informed us that they had lost control of nuclear material. Only last week did the Ukrainian authorities stated that their supply chain was interrupted. The activities of the internal barrier of the protection of the reactor are not underway, ”said Rafael Grossy.
He emphasized that he continues to exert pressure on the leadership of Russia in order to access the plant, which was damaged as a result of hostilities in early March.
The Magate is afraid that the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant awaits the fate of Chernobyl, which Russian troops occupied for five weeks and, according to local residents, damaged the station, plundering key material and technical means, including software.
