Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant (ZAES) continues to replenish the reserves of the water necessary to cool the reactors using the Kakhovsky reservoir. This was reported on Wednesday by the International Atomic Energy Agency (Magate).
“ZAES continues to replenish its reserves of water, fully using water from the Kakhovsky reservoir, so far it is possible,” the organization said.
As noted in the agency, after the destruction of the dam of the Kakhovsky hydroelectric power station, the water level continues to sink at a speed of 5-7 cm per hour. If the level falls below 12.7 m, the fuel sampling will stop.
“Since the degree of damage to the dam remains unknown, it is impossible to predict when this happens. However, if the current speed of water reduction remains, the level of 12.7 meters can be reached over the next two days,” the IAEA said.
