The main resuscitation of the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan, Irael Magherrambely, spoke in an interview about who in Azerbaijan is placed in resuscitation at COVID-19, and called a frequent error committed during the treatment of coronavirus at home.
– Some people still believe that if you call an ambulance, they will immediately be put in intensive care. Who is placed in intensive care at COVID-19?
– Naturally, people have concerns about this. Many people think that the connection to the artificial device is an extreme measure. Intensive care departments are specialized departments created for treatment and comprehensive surveillance of seriously ill patients, and equipped with modern surveillance equipment.
There are two types of artificial lung ventilation: invasive and non-invasive. With non-invasive artificial respiration on the patient’s face, a tightly adjacent mask is worn through which the air with the help of the IVL apparatus enters the lungs. In this case, the person keeps all the natural functions of the respiratory tract. With invasive respiratory support, the IVL apparatus provides forced pumping of light oxygen and fully assumes the respiratory function. Using these devices, patients can be provided with 100 percent oxygen.
Not all patients infected with coronavirus are placed in the resuscitation compartment. Since this disease directly affects the respiratory tract, most patients entering intensive therapy are patients with respiratory problems. Not only in our country, but there are no accurate information about the form and intensity of the development of the COVID-19 virus. There are still no reliable statistical data on the source, the pathogenetic direction and the principles of treatment. Of course, when people are infected, they appear symptoms typical of the virus.
To restore the body from this disease, the immune system plays a very important role. Of course, in the body with a weak immune system, the virus develops very quickly. Statistical analysis also shows that most patients come to hospitals late. Patients who have been treated at home for several days, believing that it is just a cold and did not receive proper treatment from a suitable specialist, as a result, go to the hospital too late.
The most common mistake made during treatment at home is the standard method of treatment without testing blood indicators. In patients who have COVID-19 in severe, severity is estimated at the receiving department, and on the basis of the detention of a doctor, a decision is made to take the patient to the ward or in the department of intensive therapy.
