Mali, Burkina-Faso and Niger leave Ecowas

Mali, Burkina-Faso and Niger decided to leave the economic community of Western Africa countries, according to a joint statement.

In the statement, Ecowas is accused of “betraying their principles” and the fact that “is under the influence of foreign powers.” Ecowas poses a “threat” to these three countries, according to a joint statement.

The statement stated that the activity of Ecowas did not help in the fight against terrorism, but only subjected “unthinkable” and “illegal” sanctions.

In September, Burkina-Faso, Mali and Niger signed a charter about the creation of the organization of collective defense called “The Alliance of the Sachel States”.
