Inpicure to revive your travel industry and ahead of competitors, Malta plans to offer foreign guests to 200 euros ($ 238.10) to everyone if they remain at the Mediterranean island at least three days this summer, reports Reuters.
Malta Clayton Bartolo Minister announced this scheme on Friday, saying that given the fact that most coronavirus restrictions are expected to be removed by June 1, tourists booking tickets for summer vacation directly through local hotels will receive money .
World Tourism and Travel Council data show that the tourist industry is more than 27% of the Malta economy.
The country attracted more than 2.7 million foreign tourists in 2019, but the numbers declined by more than 80% from the moment of detecting coronavirus in March 2020.
Bartolo said that tourists, booking rooms in five star hotels, will receive 100 euros from the Maltese tourism department, which is a total of 200 euros.
