NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that the allies should take joint steps to ensure general security in the future, working together, as they did for 76 years.

The General Secretary noted that the European and Canadian allies received a very clear signal from the new US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who was first attended at the NATO meeting, about the commitment of the Donald Trump NATO administration.
“Rubio expressed the expectations of the United States that Europe and Canada should take on more responsibility for overall security and continue to increase its defense costs. We are faced with real threats of general security. Whatever the challenges we encounter, we must be sure that we have the necessary forces and opportunities to restrain aggression and self -protection,” added.

The organization of the North Atlantic Treaty (NATO) was created on April 4, 1949 after the Second World War to reorganize the security system of Western Europe.
NATO united the USA, Canada, Belgium, Great Britain, Denmark, France, the Netherlands, Italy, Iceland, Luxembourg, Norway, Iceland, Luxembourg, Norway and Portugal under the auspices of collective defense.
The Alliance, to which Türkiye joined in 1952, reached 32 members in the 75th year of its existence.
