Marks 33 Years Of Establishing Diplomitions Between Turkey And Kyrgyzstan

Türkiye became the first state to recognize the independence of Kyrgyzstan. The independence of the Kyrgyz Republic was declared on August 31, 1991 after the adoption of the “Declaration of State Independence”.

January 29, 1992, diplomatic relations were established between the two countries. In the same year, embassies in Bishkek and Ankara were opened.

with the creation of a mechanism for the Council of Strategic Cooperation of the High -level (SSVU) on April 26, 2011, relations between Turkey and Kyrgyzstan reached the level of strategic partnership.

During the official visit of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Kyrgyzstan on November 5, 2024, a joint declaration was signed, which provides for the withdrawal of partnerships established in 2011, to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership. The Treaty on Eternal Friendship and Cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Turkish Republic was signed on October 24, 1997. The declaration “Türkiye and Kyrgyzstan: Together in the XXI century” was adopted in 1999. These are the fundamental documents of today’s strategic partnership between the two countries.

The presidents of the two countries make mutual visits, and also hold meetings as part of the summit of the organization of the Turkic -speaking states (OTG), sessions of the UN General Assembly, meetings of the Islamic cooperation organization (OIS), opening the World Nomad Games and other international events.

Between Turkey and Kyrgyzstan, more than 100 agreements on cooperation in various fields were signed, including education, healthcare, culture, trade and economic cooperation, transport, communications, military, technical and defense spheres.

an agreement on cooperation in the field of education, science and culture between the Republic of Kyrgyzstan and the Turkish Republic, signed in Bishkek on March 3, 1992, was the first document in the history of the Kyrgyz-Turkish relations in the field of education.

Türkiye is one of the countries that provides Kyrgyzstan with the greatest assistance in the social sphere and supports development projects.

Turkish Agency for Cooperation and Coordination (Ti̇ka)

has implemented more than 1000 projects in the country since 1993.

The most important of these projects is the Bishkek state hospital of the Kyrgyz-Turkish friendship named after Recep Tayyip Erdogan. She began taking patients in 2021. The hospital is designed for 72 beds, of which 21 – resuscitation.

The hospital, the total area of ​​which is 12 thousand square meters, is equipped with the most modern equipment.

Currently, more than 300 enterprises with Turkish capital, on which more than 10 thousand people operate in Kkyrgyzstan. According to estimates, Turkish investments in the economy of Kyrgyzstan exceeded $ 1 billion.
