Masud Pesheshkiyan leads in presidential election in Iran with 42.3 % of vote

Masud Cyzeshkyan, belonging to the wing of the reformists, leads in the presidential election of the 14th convocation in Iran from 42.3 percent of the vote. Thus, after processing the ballots, Cyzeshkyan leads in the race from 42.3 percent, gaining 5 million 955 thousand 781 votes. The next Jalili scored 5 million 560 thousand 321 votes (39.5 percent). Mohammad Bagger Galibaf is in third place with 13.4 percent of the vote, and Mostafa Purmohammadi is in fourth place with 0.8 percent of the vote.

To win, the candidate needs to get 50+1 percent of the vote. If none of the candidates gains more than 50 percent in the first round, then the second round of voting will be held on July on July, in which two candidates that have received the largest number of votes will participate.
