The current President of Moldova Maya Sandu announced her intention to run for the election of the head of state in 2024.
The politician reported this in his video message.
“I pledged to do everything that is in my power to fulfill the mission of European integration. We have many more steps to take, and I am ready to continue if you provide confidence for a new mandate in 2024,” said Sandu.
She also asked for the Moldova parliament to initiate the organization of the referendum on the issue of the development of the country.
Maya Sandu won the presidential election in November 2020. Then she received 57.74% of the vote, her rival Igor Dodon scored 42.26%.
