Italian Foreign Minister Luigi di Mio called the words of the deputy head of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev an attempt to intervene in the electoral process. Parliamentary elections in Italy against the backdrop of a government crisis are scheduled for September 25, Euronews reports.
Earlier in Telegram, Medvedev called voters’ votes “a powerful lever of pressure on frostbitten politicians.” Having offered Europeans to “call the idiots to answer”, Medvedev said that “in the winter in the company with Russia is warmer and more comfortable.”
The leader of the Italian levocentrists Enriko Poyta also considered Medvedev’s statement “a serious case of intervention” and demanded from Italian politicians to distance himself from Moscow – especially representatives of the right part of the spectrum, who were accused of sympathy for Russian politics and even in direct ties with the Kremlin.
