Meeting Of Supreme Eurasian Economic Council Was Held In Leningrad Region Of Russian Federation

Russia highly appreciates mutually beneficial multifaceted cooperation with partners in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council.

Putin recalled that the agreement on the establishment of the Eurasian Economic Union this year is 10 years old, and a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in May in Moscow was dedicated to this anniversary date.

“Our association was established as one of the independent and self -sufficient centers of the emerging multipolar world and continues to develop dynamically. The activities of the Eurasian Union contribute to the expansion of trade and investment exchanges, the increase in business contacts, the deepening of cooperative ties, and most importantly, integration interaction brings real benefits to each Of the participants in our association, in fact, it helps to ensure stable, steady growth of both the economies of the “five” states and the Eurasian region as a whole, leads to improving the quality of life and well -being of the citizens of our countries, ”said the President of the Russian Federation.

Putin emphasized that Russia is highly appreciated by mutually beneficial multifaceted cooperation with partners in the EU, and is sincerely interested in the intensification of joint work on the comprehensive strengthening of an integration association. “I am convinced that all the colleagues present are sharing such a mood,” he added.

According to the Kremlin website, a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council was held in the Leningrad Region. On the agenda – current issues of the activities of the Eurasian Economic Union, plans for further deepening integration processes and the development of the Unified Market of the Union. The signing of a number of significant documents is expected. The meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council continued in an expanded composition.

The meeting was attended by the President of Kazakhstan Kasim-Zhomart Tokaev, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan (according to a video conferencing from a positive test for Koronavirus), President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, President of the Kyrgyz Republic of Sadir Zhaparov, as well as the chairman of the College Economic Commission Bakytzhan Sagintaev.
