A memorandum of understanding in the field of urban planning was signed between Turkey and Russia. The corresponding document was signed as part of the 12th session of the World City Forum in Cairo, the capital of Egypt.
According to the statement of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Changes, Turkey at the event was represented by Deputy Minister of Omer Bulut.
Speaking at a session of the forum dedicated to the children’s and youth Assembly, Bulut noted the role of young people and children in sustainable urbanization and recalled that Turkey attaches importance to children and youth, including through national holidays.
The deputy minister also attracted attention to educational projects, such as the Zero waste project and the Academy of Environment and Children, implemented in Turkey, as well as the restoration efforts after a natural disaster.
After the meeting of Omer, Bulut met with the Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of the Russian Federation Nikita Stasishin.
During the meeting, the cooperation of Turkey and Russia was emphasized, as well as a memorandum of understanding regarding planned joint research in the field of urban planning
