Ex-Chancellor German Angela Merkel personally blocked the supply of weapons to Ukraine on the NATO line, reports BILD, referring to sources.
According to the publication, in May Germany used the right of veto by blocking the supply of Barrett’s already paid by the Ukrainian side of American rifles and Lithuanian antidron rifles. At the same time, the Government of Merkel forced the Netherlands to support his decision so that there was no impression, “that Germany is the only opponent of sale,” the source said.
It is reported that in August President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky during the visit of Merkel to Kiev, personally asked her to remove the veto for deliveries. However, the Chancellor “Ice Voice” said that it was “excluded.”
Berlin removed the veto for the supply of antidron rifles to Ukraine only at the end of November. At the same time, the supply of American rifles into this country is still blocked.
