The outgoing Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel will visit Turkey on October 16 to discuss issues of bilateral partnership and international cooperation. It is reported by the Turkish newspaper Huriyyet with reference to the spokesman for Chancellor Stefan Cheyberta.
According to Cheybert, the Angels of Merkel with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will take place in Istanbul. Leaders will discuss a wide range of issues of the regional and international agenda, including cooperation between Turkey with the EU and the protection of refugees. “Turkey is a very important and close partner for us,” said Cheybert.
Angela Merkel’s visit to Turkey will take place on the eve of the summit of the leaders of the European Union in Brussels scheduled for October 21-22.
