In the framework of the measures taken to ensure fire safety in Azerbaijan, the State Fire Supervision Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations continues to perform the tasks assigned to it. In this context, a statistical analysis conducted by the Service shows that the overwhelming majority of fires fall on the residential sector.
According to the ministry, about 50% of fires in the residential sector occur due to violations of fire safety rules when installing and operating electrical equipment, 15% of gas devices. However, such cases such as negligence when performing work with fire and welding works, the game of remaining unattended children with fire is also among the main factors for fires.
EMERCOM of Azerbaijan, referring to the population in order to ensure the safety of citizens, once again reminds of the need to comply with the following important rules of fire safety: in particular, the Office is urged to trust the installation of an electric and gas network exclusively to specialists and use quality products for this purpose.
In addition, experts urge no use of gas appliances that do not meet the established standards, since their use creates a danger of poisoning, fire and explosion.
It is also recommended not to overload the electrical lines and extension cords, do not leave electrical equipment and gas devices in working condition, when leaving the apartment, do not store flammable combustible substances in a residential room on balconies and staircases.
Specialists call on not to include light in case when the smell of gas is felt when entering the room. In such cases, you need to open the doors and windows, overlap the supply of gas to the apartment and call a specialist.
In addition, it is recommended to maximize the access of children to electric and gas devices, and not to leave small children unattended.
