META agreed to pay $ 25 million to US President Donald Trump as part of a lawsuit filed by him due to blocking accounts on social networks. It is reported by The Wall Street Journal with reference to unnamed sources that presented the details of the agreement between Trump and META.
Sources reported that Meta agreed to pay about $ 25 million at Trump’s claim, filed by him in connection with the blocking of his account on Facebook.
According to sources, $ 22 million of the funds that pay META will go to the Trump presidential library, and the remaining part will be sent to “other persons participating in the case” and to pay for legal costs.
Despite the agreement reached, Meta “does not recognize the charges against her,” the sources noted.
According to NBC News, META, maternal organization of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, filed a notification to the federal court on the achievement of a settlement agreement in the case.
The Communications Director of META Andy Stone also confirmed the terms of the transaction that include the payment of compensation in the amount of $ 25 million.
