Meta (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp) reported that a new policy that resolves negative statements in relation to including Russian servicemen will be applied only in Ukraine, reports “Kommersant”.
Vice-President of Meta Platforms Nick Clegg stated that the changes “are aimed at protecting the rights of people to freedom of speech as an expression of self-defense in response to the military invasion of their country.”
He noted that the company “There was no quarrel with the Russian people” and there were no changes in the policy of negative statements, “concerning Russian people.”
“We will not miss Russophobia or other types of discrimination against Russians on our platform,” said Clegg and added that changes are temporary, and the situation will be constantly tracked.
