President of Mexico Claudia Sheinbaum said that the US administration is considering the possibility of introducing additional 25 percent duties on goods imported from the country.
“There are 3 more days left to solve this issue. Of course, we will evaluate what its determining characteristics and what can be done,” she said, speaking at a press conference in the National Palace.
At the end of February, US President Donald Trump again announced the introduction of duties against Canada and Mexico, which were postponed for a month in exchange for strengthening the security of the borders.
On the first of February, Trump signed a decree on the introduction of additional 25 percent duties on imports from Canada and Mexico and 10 percent duties on imports from China.
On the third of February, the US President announced the postponement of duties against Canada and Mexico for a period of 30 days in exchange for strengthening the security of the borders.
