Mexico Announced Lack Of An Intention To Become “safe Third Country” For Migrants

Mexico is ready to accept illegal migrants deported from the United States, however, does not intend to become a “safe third country.”

This was President of Mexico Claudia Sheinbaum at a press conference in the National Palace, commenting on the situation with thousands of illegal migrants awaiting deportation from the USA.

Shanbaum said that the country’s government supports a constant dialogue on the issue of sending migrants to Mexico, but does not intend to agree to the status of a “safe third country”.

“We, Mexicans, never left people in trouble on the border, this is not a new situation for us,” the president emphasized.

The head of state also assured that the authorities will continue to adhere to “worthy, responsible and focused on the dialogue of” Policy aimed at protecting the sovereignty of the country and the rights of its citizens.
