President of Mexico Claudia Sheinbaum said that if necessary, the country will begin to search for new trading partners in response to the decision of the United States to introduce 25 percent duties on Mexican goods.
Speaking at a daily press conference in the National Palace, Shanbaum emphasized that Mexico is at a critical point.
“Mexico will not allow himself to impose conditions for himself. Much will become clear before Sunday, and we go through an extremely important stage. If necessary, we will look for other trading partners in the framework of sovereignty and dignity,” the president said.

Shanbaum also confirmed that she is planning a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump.
“If the conditions do not change, we will begin to build new partnerships with Canada and other countries. If the tariffs remain in force, we will have to make important decisions. These are critical steps, because we must protect the sovereignty and independence of Mexico,” she emphasized.
