Migrants who are in the centers of detention of the US immigration and customs service (ICE) suffer from dismissive medical care, unsafe and antisanitarian living conditions, and are also insulting a racist nature.
This is stated by the report by the Department of Civil Rights and Freedoms of the US Department of Internal Security on 1600 pages.
The report is published by the National Public Radio (NPR) USA.
Inspectors examined more than 24 centers of detention of Ice.
Monitoring was carried out in 16 US states from 2017 to 2019.
It was established that in some cases unscrupulous medical care, including the treatment of mental disorders, quoted the death of those held in the center of persons.
One of the patients was not dressed, despite the open wound after surgery in one of the centers in Michigan. He also did not undergo examinations in medical institutions. It is emphasized that he was deprived of even the most elementary care for his wound.
In Georgia, the nurse ignored the request of the inhabitant of ICE, who turned for the inhaler.
In Pennsylvania, a group of employees of a correctional institution tied a mentally ill man to a special chair and gave the only scissors among the woman being present to the woman to cut his clothes for inspection with undressing.
“This is a barbaric practice that clearly violates the fundamental principles of humanity,” the authors of the report noted.
Administration of both US President Donald Trump and the current head of the White House Joe Biden for more than three years refused to publish a report in which the practice of anti-human handling of migrants has been exposed.
