Celn-Wan Military Basis in Germany for some time was closed due to suspicions of sabotage.
The press secretary of the German Ministry of Defense, Arne Collatz, said at a press conference in Berlin that the Keln-Wan base was closed due to unauthorized penetration. “There is also a suspicion of sabotage,” he said.
According to the collatele, the relevant authorities are investigating the incident.
Bundeswehr spokesman Ulrich vonbert also made a statement at the Keln-Wan military air base. He said that on the night of Wednesday in the fence leading to the water distribution point, a loophole was discovered.
vonbert added that the base was closed for a while. Despite the intensive searches, the violators have not yet been discovered.
noting an abnormal increase in the indicators of the water supplied to the base, and its possible pollution, vonbert said that the samples of drinking water are still analyzed, so the water supply at the base was stopped.
The spokesman noted that the military department seriously reacted to the incident and security units continue to work to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
According to the newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung, the NATO base in Gailkinkirhen (Germany) was also temporarily closed due to suspicions of sabotage.
At the Cologne-Wan military air base, various units of the German army are located, as well as a unit responsible for the movement of government members and high-ranking German officials.
