“We, members of the defense and security forces of the Gabon Republic, united in the” Committee of the transition period and the restoration of state institutions “, abbreviated by Ctri, along with the living forces of the Gabonian nation … We affirm and accept the real chart of the transition period,” the said in a document that publishes the publication.
The charter lists, in particular, the tasks of the transition period. Thus, Gabon’s authorities intend to “rebuild the state” by creating strong institutions, as well as protect the territorial integrity of the country and the security of people and their property. In addition, the tasks indicate: reforms in political, economic and other areas, strengthening the independence of the judicial system, promoting and protecting human rights. The Charter proclaims such goals as establishing a culture of proper rule and responsible citizenship, the development of a new constitution and its adoption by referendum, as well as the organization of free, democratic and transparent elections.
The transitional periods indicate: the president of the transition period, the National Council of the Transition period, the transition government, the transitional parliament and the Constitutional Court of the transition period.
