Romanian fighters on March 22 climbed into the air to accompany the passenger aircraft, which followed Moscow to Istanbul. The reason was the message about the bomb on board a liner, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Romania.
For air police fighters, this mission was new. They accompanied Turkish Airlines flight in the country’s airspace.
Fighters flew at 18:58 Moscow time and were near the passenger aircraft until 19:24.
According to the statement of the press service of the Romanian military department, the mission passed under the conditions of maximum security.
