Until the end of 2023, all tourists accommodation facilities in Turkey will receive a certificate of “sustainable tourism”. This was announced by the Minister of Culture and Tourism of Turkey Mehmet Nuri Ersa.
At the first stage (2023), the placement objects will comply with the established standards for 30, on the second (2025) – by 70, on the third (2030) – by 100 percent, said the head of the department at the opening of a global conference on “sustainable Tourism ” – Global Sustainable Tourism Conference -2023.
Ersa expressed satisfaction due to the fact that Turkey first adopts a conference that takes place annually in different countries. “In the process of recovery that began after the Covid-19 pandemic, we witnessed that resistance to crises is more important than ever,” the minister said.
According to Ersoy, Turkey managed to become one of the countries, the least affected by the negative consequences of the pandemic, thanks to the rapid implementation of the certification program of safe tourism.
The head of the Ministry of Tourism assured that until 2030 all hotels, hotels and other objects of tourist accommodation will fully comply with international standards. “As of April 25, 2023, the number of objects that received a certificate of the first stage, observing all the necessary criteria, is 1382, the number of enterprises that received a certificate of the third stage is 202, and the total number of certificates issued reached 1584,” he added.
