The Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey Alparslan Bayractar holds meetings in the capital of Iraq Baghdad.
In the publication on the social network, X Bayractar said that he had a meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Oil Iraq Hayyan Abdulgani to evaluate the possibilities of cooperation in the field of oil and natural gas.
During negotiations, the parties considered the existing projects between Ankara and Baghdad, as well as the possibilities of cooperation in the field of oil and natural gas:
“We are in Baghdad, the capital of Iraq and a meeting with the deputy prime minister and Minister of oil Iraq, Hayan Abdulgani. During our meeting, we appreciated existing projects between our countries, as well as the possibility of cooperation to realize high potential in the field of production, transportation and trade in the sectors of oil and natural gas in order to achieve the volume of trade, established by our leaders, ”the minister wrote.
Bayractar said that then they met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs Iraq Fuad Hussein and discussed regional events: “We discussed regional events and their reflection on our countries and the energy sector in the short -term and medium term. We drew attention to the importance of evaluating the development road as an energy road and strengthening our cooperation within this framework.”
According to this information, he also met with the Minister of Electric power industry Iraqi Ziyad Ali Fazil, with whom he discussed the issue of increasing the power of inter -grid connections between the two countries and investments in renewable energy sources.
The ministers also examined the possibilities of increasing electricity exchange.
According to the results of the negotiations, an agreement was reached on an increase in the volume of energy supplied through the inter -systemic connection, up to 600 megavatts.
