Ministry of Defense of Russian Federation: more than 800 units of weapons surrendered armed groups in Karabakh

Members of armed Armenian formations in Karabakh surrendered more than 800 units of small arms and about 5 thousand ammunition, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reports.

“in fulfillment of the achieved agreements on the termination of hostilities with the armed formations of Karabakh, the delivery of weapons and military equipment under the control of Russian peacekeepers began,” the statement said.

reporting that as of September 22, illegal armed groups in Karabakh passed 6 units of armored vehicles, more than 800 units of small arms and about 5 thousand ammunition.

On September 19, the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan announced the beginning of local anteriorism events in the Karabakh region against illegal Armenian armed groups that periodically committed provocations and terrorist attacks in the region.

A day later, on September 20, an agreement was reached on the suspension of anti -terrorism events, illegal Armenian armed groups agreed to lay down weapons, leave military positions and military posts and completely disarm.

On September 21, in the Azerbaijani city of Evlakh, a meeting was held between representatives of the central authority of Azerbaijan and representatives of the Armenian population of Karabakh. The parties discussed the issues of reintegration of the Armenian population of Karabakh to the Azerbaijani Society, the restoration of infrastructure and organization of the activities of the Armenian population of Karabakh on the basis of the Constitution and the laws of Azerbaijan.
