The Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan, together with the International School of Mathematics and Programming “Algorithmika” launched a new educational project for students Code for Future. About this haqqin.az told in the ministry.
February 15 in the Azerbaijan State University of Oil and Industry (AGUNP) a ceremony of the opening of the educational project Code for Future was held. At the first stage, the project will cover the spring semester of the 2021/2022 academic year. At this stage, students of III and IV courses studying at the undergraduate of the technical specialties of AGUNP will take part in it. Courses will be taught in two programs – “Web Development” and “System Administration” and cover 300 students. The goal of the project is to prepare students at the Junior specialist.
Speaking at the event, Rector of Agunp Professor Mustafa Banshal noted the importance of this project from the point of view of development of programming skills in students and expressed the hope that students will justify their trust. Noting that the project provides ample opportunities for improving knowledge of 15 employees of the university in the field of programming, the rector added that on young people lies great responsibility, especially since this is today the only university participating in the project.
In turn, the representative of the Ministry of Education Ulker Sattarova spoke about the importance of the project for students and noted that it creates a wide range of possibilities and prospects for young people in the field of programming.
Then the project manager Nazrin Aliyeva made a detailed presentation of the project. She informed students about the goal of the project, the course passing stages, as well as partners, software and programming languages.
According to her, qualified personnel from the private sector from the private sector are involved in the project, which will teach these student courses, according to the results of which they will become full specialists in their field and can easily find work. Classes will begin on February 21. Students are divided into 15 groups of 20 people. Each group of 60% of boys and 40% of girls, which also speaks about increasing interest in programming among female representatives. Classes will be held for 3-4 hours every day free of charge. In the future, it is planned that other universities will be connected to the project. Specialties will also be extended.
also noted that about 700 students were registered to participate in the project. At the first stage, their questionnaires and academic performance were checked. Further, the project staff held with selected students interviews, they found out their motivation, the goal for the future, which today has achievements and skills and thus chose 300 most suitable students.
