Ministry of Finance of Kazakhstan: secondary sanctions cannot be allowed

The Minister of Finance of Kazakhstan, Yerulan Zhamaubaev, announced the need to prevent secondary sanctions against the republic.

“We will not allow secondary sanctions, and even more so (export) of certain goods that will escalate the situation on military operations,” said the minister, whose words are quoted by Zakon.kz.

Zhamaubaev noted that there is a clear risk management system.

According to him, that for those companies that were heard in the media, have not yet determined the export of prohibited goods.

“In no case (secondary sanctions) should not be allowed,” said the head of the Ministry of Finance.

Assistant Minister of Finance of the United States Elizabeth Rosenberg on April 25 at a press conference in Astana stated that Kazakhstan is growing a risk of secondary sanctions.

The American authorities are concerned about a sharp jump in the supply of some sanctions goods to Kazakhstan – computer equipment that is used to ensure energy supply, as well as navigation of missiles and drones.

According to them, these specific goods were transported from Kazakhstan to Russia.
