In accordance with the “Vaccination strategy against COVID-19 in the Republic of Azerbaijan at 2021-2022” the vaccination process continues throughout the country.
The Ministry of Health informed HaqQin.az, which due to the appearance and spread of a more infectious strain “Delta” there is a need for a more serious combat of the virus. In addition, seasonal weather changes also increase the risk of wider spread of the epidemic.
Taking into account the results of the latest research, vaccination experience of a number of countries (USA, Israel, Belgium, Italy, United Kingdom, Singapore, Japan, etc.), WHO recommendations, CDC, FDA, the Research and Medical Council of the Ministry of Health recommends Risk of pregnant women (over 35 years old, suffering obesity, diabetes, hypertension, chronic kidney and liver diseases, diseases of the autoimmune system, polygamy, etc.) After 12 weeks of pregnancy, the MRNT Pfizer vaccine is recommended.
Pregnant women who are not included in the risk group can also be vaccinated by the MRNT PFIZER vaccine (COMIRNAY) after 12 weeks of pregnancy based on their written consent.
Note that after vaccination of pregnant women, the certificate of contraindications will be replaced by a vaccination certificate.
