The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in the meeting of the heads of state of Central Asia with the Federal President of Germany Francom-Valter Steinmeier, the press service of the Uzbek leader reports.
The event was also attended by the President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Zhomart Tokaev, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon and Chairman of the Hulk Maslahata, Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov.
The meeting discussed issues of strengthening the constructive political dialogue, the expansion of trade, economic, transportation, communication and cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
There was also an exchange of views on relevant aspects of ensuring regional security and sustainable development, including within the framework of the European Union.
The head of Uzbekistan during his speech separately dwelled on the prospects for interaction in the format of “Country of Central Asia – Germany.” Particular attention is paid to the priority areas of practical partnership, primarily in the field of high technology and innovative development, transport communications, “green” energy, professional education, active cultural and academic exchanges.
with deep satisfaction, the expansion of the presence of leading German companies and banks in Uzbekistan was noted. The growing interest of Uzbek youth in the study of the German language is stated.
