Myanmar is an important partner of the Russian Federation in the Asia-Pacific region. This was stated by the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin at a meeting with his colleague from Myanmar Min Aun Hong.
“Despite the illegitimate sanctions against Russia and Myanmar, our trade and economic cooperation is developing successfully, mutual turnover is growing. There are good opportunities for building our cooperation in the energy, peaceful atom, transport infrastructure, agriculture,” said Mishustin.
The Russian prime minister noted that new joint projects are being worked out in the telecommunications sector, information technology, food industry, mining and processing of minerals.
“We offer to increase interaction in the investment sphere. Russian companies are ready to connect to the work of the special economic zone” Daway “on the territory of Myanmar. This is a strategic project that will increase mutual trade and create new jobs for small and medium -sized businesses. We pay special attention to cooperation in the field of education. Mishustin also expressed confidence that the visit of Min Aun Khlin in the Russian Federation will give a new impetus to the development of bilateral cooperation between two countries in all directions.
“According to the results of negotiations in the Kremlin, an intergovernmental agreement should be signed on the mutual recognition of education, qualifications and academic degrees. This will create a reliable legal basis for the work of graduates of universities,” he said.
In turn, Min Aun Khline said that Myanmar plans to open two consulates in Russia to strengthen diplomatic agents between countries.
The visit of the Prime Minister of Myanmar will give an impulse to the dialogue between the countries, said the chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin.
“You are a great friend of Russia. This is our first meeting, but I hope that it will lay a good foundation so that relations are strengthened in all segments, and, of course, within the framework of inter -parliamentary cooperation. As soon as the parliament in Myanmar is formed, we will certainly do everything in our own way to develop within the framework of the parliamentary measurement,” the politician said, the words of the lower chamber parliament.
The Chairman of the State Duph indicated that both Russia and Myanmar advocate for building a multipolar fair world order.
“We, like you, share the principles of building relationships, where mutual respect, non -interference in the affairs of sovereign states, lack of double standards, mutually beneficial cooperation are based,” said Volodin.
Speaking about the economic cooperation of Russia and Myanmar, Vyacheslav Volodin said that the volume of bilateral trade has been growing in recent years: in 2024 it increased by more than 40%.
