Mobilized Russians from the Omsk region were sent to fight to the Lugansk region as part of the Private Army “PMC Vagner”. Russian media write about this with a link to the Union of Committee of Soldiers’ Mothers.
The mother of one of the mobilized said that her son was called up at the end of September, but did not put a note on mobilization in a military ID. Then it was recorded in the Wagner PMC group, which consists of prisoners and fights in the Lugansk region.
According to the woman, other mobilized from the Omsk region, together with her son, also got into the “private army”. Relatives of the draftees turned to the military prosecutor’s office, the military registration and enlistment office and the regional authorities, but did not achieve any answer.
Russian human rights activists note that the use of mobilized as part of PMCs violates the decree of the President of the Russian Federation, according to which conscripts must go to the service of the country’s armed forces. Also, a violation of the law is that such people do not put a note on mobilization in a military ID.
“This is completely illegal, since the very existence of PMCs is illegal from the point of view of Russian legislation. Relatives can file a complaint with the military prosecutor’s office,” said the director of the human rights group “Citizen. Army. Law” Sergey Krivenko.
