In the Baku Court of Grave Crimes, the process in the criminal case of the former head of the public service for the protection, development and recovery of cultural heritage under the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan Zakira Sultanova is continued.
As reported by the correspondent HaqQin.az, at this meeting, the state prosecutor was made, who recognized Z. Sultanov guilty under Article 179.4 of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan and demanded for the accused 12 years in prison. The state binding also requested a civil suit on 5 million 327 thousand 900 manat, presented by the Ministry of Culture against the accused.
Note that the Ex-Minister of Culture Abulfaz Garayev during the investigation was never caused to court, despite the requests of Zakira Sultanov, who, according to the accused, “participated in these cases.”
The trial will continue on December 14.
Zakir Sultanov was detained on charges of assigning budget money allocated to the protection and reconstruction of cultural and historical monuments.
