Moldova and Romania will bind new power line

The Government of the Republic of Moldova approved the signing of a loan agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for the implementation of the project “Connecting electrical networks between the Republic of Moldova and Romania, Stage II”. The decision was made at a government meeting on Wednesday, March 6, Moldovan media reported.

The total project cost is 77 million euros. The budget includes loans for 30.8 million euros from the EBRD, 30.8 million euros from the European Investment Bank and a grant component of 15.4 million euros from the European Union through the neighborhood investment platform.

, within the framework of this project, a new line of power transmission with a voltage of 400 kV will be built between the Republic of Moldova and Romania, connecting the cities of Balti and Sachava. Also in the underwear, it is planned to build a power plant with a capacity of 400 square meters.

Part of the funds will be directed to repair sections of power networks in Moldova, including the replacement of switching elements, transformers and other equipment. The project also provides measures to reform the energy sector.

The implementation of the project will integrate the Moldova network into the European Union market and increase the efficiency of the energy sector, ensuring the stability and reliability of the electric power system.
