Moldova expects to receive gas from Azerbaijan through Romania thanks to an agreement concluded by the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan and Romanian Romgaz S. a.
This was stated by the speaker of the Moldova Parliament, the head of the ruling party and solidarity Igor Gros on the air of TVR Moldova.
“, under this agreement, gas from Azerbaijan through Turkey will enter the Transbalkan gas pipeline and Romania. This will allow Moldova to purchase it. We will use this additional source of gas,” Grosa said.
.
According to him, gas from Romania to Moldova can be supplied along the Yasza gas pipeline – Ungeni with a length of 43.2 km, which was built using the EU back in 2014 and was not used all these years.
Gros noted that the republic, if the price is profitable, will be able to pump it into the underground storages of neighboring countries, since it does not have her own.
The throughput of the gas pipeline from Romania is 1.5 billion cubic meters per year, while the republic, together with an unrecognized Transnistria, consumes up to 3 billion cubic meters.
