Moldova: Head Of Gagauzia Evgeny Gutsul Was Transferred Under House Arrest

Chisinau court decided to transfer the head of the Gagauz autonomy Evgeny Gutsul under house arrest.

“The court decided to partially satisfy the request of the prosecutors, applying a preventive measure in the form of home arrest for a period of 30 days from today from today,” the court decision said.

Earlier, the Prosecutor’s Office of Moldova sent a petition to the court to extend the term of arrest for the head of Gagauzia. Her 20-day arrest ends on April 14. On Wednesday, prosecutors submitted a request to extend the deadline for arrest Gutsul.

Lawyer Gutsul Natalya Bayram said that she would protest the decision of the Chisinau district court on house arrest.

“We categorically disagree with the court decision and will immediately appeal. We consider this measure of restraint unreasonable and excessively strict. We will achieve complete liberation,” she said.
