Building company Evrascon, associated with the former Vice Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, Abid Sharifov, was again in the center of a loud scandal in Moldova.
The company for the sixth year cannot complete the construction of 17.6 km of the R1 National Trail site – Ungheni – Skulyany, which passes through the settlements of Vatra and is scary. Works were supposed to be completed back in 2016, but only 85% of the total work was fulfilled.
According to Moldovan media, the State Administration of Highways (Gaths) again held a meeting with representatives of Evrascon. Currently, the contractor leads the laying of the asphalt layer, the construction of the drainage system and places the sidewalks.
“Gath previously expressed concern about the stagnation of repair work, which should have been completed in 2016, and requested an explanation from the contractor. The entrepreneur assured that in August of this year it will receive financial support from the central office of the parent company (Azerbaijan) to overcome the established Situations, “- Approve the Office.
Note that the project restoration project of the R1 road sector costing more than 23 million euros is provided by the Government of Moldova in the form of a loan from the funds of the European Investment Bank.
Also, on this route, EVRASCON must complete another plot, which passes through the locations of the cornests, Romanovka and Pyrnelia in the Ungensky district and has the total cost of about 15 million euros funded from the EBRD funds. And here, too, there are large delays.
Previously, the Gath claimed that the Contractor was obliged to pay fines in the amount of 10% of the total amount of each contract for the excess of the contractual terms of completion of work, i.e. Approximately 3.8 million euros.
This year, Gada announced the termination of the contract, which provided for the reconstruction of the National R33 R33 route, concluded with EVRASCON. The total cost of the project recovery of the national road R33 with a length of 37.2 km is about 18.8 million euros provided from EBRD sources.
Also, the contractor will pay a penalty for delay in the amount of 10% of the total value of a terminated contract, that is, almost 1.9 million euros.
Note that the ABID of Sharifov in 2015 recognized his connection with Evrascon. The company is managed by Brother Abida Sharifova Manaf Shirinov.
