President of Moldova Maya Sandu called on citizens to continue to contribute to European integration of the country.
The head of state stated this at a solemn ceremony dedicated to the State Flag Day on Saturday, April 27, Moldavian State Media reports.
“Every time we look at the national flag, we must be proud of what we have achieved, and continue to contribute to the construction of European Moldova,” said Sandu.
The president urged citizens to always keep the state flag in their hearts, do not forget where their roots, memories, aspirations and dreams.
“We celebrate this day, honoring the tricolor. The state flag is the window into the past and the future. It calls us to unity, solidarity and hope, reflected in three colors. Together we can overcome any obstacles, regardless of the language, from the north Or from the south, ”Maya Sandu said.
The event was organized in front of the government of the government. It was also attended by the chairman of the parliament Igor Gros, Prime Minister Dorin Republic, members of the Cabinet of Ministers and other officials.
The state flag was solemnly raised at the ceremony and the state anthem was performed. The Day of the State Flag was established by the Parliament of Moldova on April 23, 2010. Tricolor officially became the state flag of Moldova on April 27, 1990.
The state flag is a rectangular panel with a height ratio of 1: 2, consisting of three equal colored stripes. The stripes are located vertically in the next sequence from the shaft: blue, yellow, red.
