The Republic of Moldova replenished its list with three more medals at the European heavy athletics championship among adults, which takes place these days in the capital.
Three medals won Marin Rob in the weight category up to 89 kg, reports Moldipers. The athlete took first place in a jerk with a result of 173 kg, which brought him a gold medal.
In pushing the nucleus, Marin Robu showed the result of 202 kilograms and took second place. With a total result of 375 kilograms, the Moldavian athlete also took second place, winning his second silver medal.
Thanks to these three medals, the National Moldova team in heavy athletics gained a total of seven awards, currently won at the European Walter Athletics Championship.
103rd European Warm-Athletics Championship among men and 37th among women is held in Chisinau (Moldova) from April 13 to 21, 2025 at the Chisinau-Arena sports site.
The event collected about 400 athletes from more than 40 countries. The Republic of Moldova first accepts competitions of this scale.
The European Walt Athletics Championship 2025 are played out in the following weight categories: women: up to 45 kg, up to 49 kg, up to 55 kg, up to 59 kg, up to 64 kg, up to 71 kg, up to 81 kg, up to 87 kg, over 87 kg. Men: up to 55 kg, up to 61 kg, up to 67 kg, up to 73 kg, up to 81 kg, up to 89 kg, up to 96 kg, up to 102 kg, up to 109 kg, over 109 kg.
The European heavy athletics championship among adults is considered one of the most prestigious in the 2025 European sports calendar and displays the Republic of Moldova to a map of large international competitions.
