Mongolia And Switzerland Confirmed Readiness To Continue Active Cooperation

Mongolia and Switzerland are ready to continue active cooperation in all areas representing mutual interest.

This was stated by President of Mongolia Ukhnaiin Khurelsukh and President of the Swiss Confederation, Viola AMHERD during an official meeting in Ulan-Bator on Friday, August 2.

According to Montsame, during negotiations in the State Palace, the leaders of the two countries expressed mutual satisfaction with the expansion of friendly relations between Ulan Bator and Bern, based on such democratic values ​​as human rights, freedom and the rule of law, in the areas of politics, trade, trade, economies, investments, culture, education and humanitarian activities.

Ukhnaiin Huralsukh noted that the Swiss side consistently supports Mongolia’s transition to democracy and market economics and implemented numerous projects and programs in many areas of cooperation and strengthening democratic management.

The head of state emphasized that these projects and programs made a significant contribution to the socio-economic development of our country.

The parties confirmed the readiness to strengthen the successes achieved over 60 years of cooperation from the moment of establishing diplomatic relations, and continue active cooperation in all areas representing mutual interest.

The issues of joint implementation of proposals and initiatives put forward by the parties on the international and regional arenas were also discussed, and their contribution to the efforts of the international community aimed at solving global problems, such as climate change, desertification and degradation of the environment.

The state visit of the President of the Swiss Confederation in Mongolia began on August 2 and takes place at the invitation of the head of the Mongol state. The ceremony of the official meeting of the honorary guest was held in the morning on the central square of Ulan-Bator.

Mongolia and the Swiss Confederation established diplomatic relations on May 22, 1964 and have since maintained friendly relations and cooperation.
