Mongolia attaches special importance to the fight against the desertification process. This was stated by the Foreign Minister of Mongolia Batmunhiin Batzesg at a meeting with the president of the Japanese Red Cross Society A. Seike and during the visit the information center of this society, Montzame reports.
The Minister expressed gratitude for the fruitful cooperation and support that the Japanese Red Cross Society provides in various fields, including climate change, assistance in natural disasters, healthcare and social issues.
The diplomat emphasized that Ulan Bator attaches special importance to the struggle with the processes of desertification, adaptation to climate change and a decrease in its consequences, as well as the prevention of large natural disasters and increased stability.
Batzesg expressed a willingness to exchange experience and cooperation, especially in the preparation of youth and children for actions in natural disasters and teaching protective measures.
Seika, the President of the Japanese Red Cross Society, in turn, was thanked by the government of Mongolia and the Mongolian Society of the Red Cross for sincere assistance in restoring after a destructive earthquake in the noto (prefecture of Ishikava, Japan).
The parties discussed the ways of further cooperation, including training in reducing risk and response to natural disasters.
Batzest was awarded the Order of the Honor of the Japanese Red Cross Society in recognition of its contribution to humanitarian activities.
