In Dnepropetrovsk, a monument to Russian poet Alexander Pushkin was demolished, local publications reported.
The monument was again opened after restoration in 1999. At the same time, according to the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the country of December 21, 2010, it was declared a monument of cultural heritage of Ukraine of local importance.
The mayor of the city Boris Filatov said that the monuments related to Russia and the USSR established in Dnepropetrovsk will be transferred to the territory of the Zookontrol communal enterprise.
On November 30, the monument to Pushkin was demolished in the city of Ananiev Odessa region of Ukraine. The gilded bust was removed from the pedestal using an excavator. A day earlier, a memorial plaque dedicated to Pushkin was dismantled in Nikolaev.
Before that, the monuments to Pushkin were dismantled in Kyiv, as well as in Ukrainian Chernivtsi, Zhytomyr, Kremenchug, Kharkov and Tulchina.
