More Than 2 Million People Left Their Homes Due To Floods In North Of Nigeria

more than two million people were forced to leave their homes due to large-scale floods in Kogi in North Nigeria.

As Umar Yu. Makhmud said the head of the reaction department for emergency situations of the Koga Red Crescent Society, the floods caused by the nine districts of the state.

“More than two million people were forced to leave their homes due to natural disaster. Rescue teams help people move to refugees and neighboring villages. The situation remains critical due to the ongoing rise in water level in the Niger River,” Mahmoud said .

According to him, as a result of floods of more than 150 thousand hectares of agricultural land were under water.

We note that earlier this year, strong rains caused large -scale floods in Nigeria, who claimed the lives of about 300 people.
