More Than 20 People Became Victims Of Lass’s Fever In Southern Nigeria

In the province of Edo in the south of Nigeria, 21 people died from the fever of Lass, a dangerous viral disease transmitted from animals to people.

According to the representative of the healthcare of Dr. Joseph Okhkhuhuale, the outbreak of Lass’s fever spread to several regions of the province. According to him, in total, EDO recorded 240 cases of disease.

We note that since the beginning of the year, more than 170 people have died from Nigeria from Lass’s fever. The country’s government has announced the development of three drugs to treat this disease.

For the first time, Lass’s fever was discovered in Nigeria in 1969 in the state of Borno in the northeast country.

Lass fever is transmitted through contacts with feces of rats and mice. This dangerous disease has the ability to be transmitted from a person to a person and can lead to deaths.

The country’s authorities called for the population to observe precautions, follow the norms of hygiene and avoid contacts with rodents.
