Turkish law enforcement agencies detained a total of 42 persons who were put on the wanted list for the “red notification” of Interpol in 12 countries. This was announced on Friday by the Minister of Internal Affairs of the country Ali Erlika in his account on the social network x.
According to him, the suspects were taken into custody as a result of simultaneous raids as part of the operation KAFES-31 (“CENTER-31”) in 13 Turkish provinces.
The head of the department added that the operation was carried out during the coordination of the Main Directorate of Intelligence and Security, the Office to Combat Smuggling and Organized Crime and the Department of Interpol-European Polish of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkey.
Suspects are wanted at the request of Germany, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Iran, Sweden, Finland, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Egypt, Russia, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
YERLIKA said that the detainees were involved in membership in an organized criminal group, illegal weapons trafficking, drug trafficking, intentional murders, migrant smuggling, financial fraud, robberies and thefts, forged official documents and tax evasion.
The minister noted that since the beginning of this year, 114 people were detained as part of the Kafes-31 operation, wanted by the “red notification” of Interpol.
