During the protests, more than 80 military and police officers were injured in Venezuela, according to General Prosecutor Tarek William Saab.
Saab at a press conference in Karakas, said that many participants in the riots in the country even participated in the vote in the presidential election.
“Those who committed vandalism have a long criminal record. They damaged the statues of Hugo Chavez, hospitals and police cars. We will protect the rights of citizens and fulfill what is necessary by law,” he stressed.
According to him, the authorities respond to citizens who conduct peaceful demonstrations within the Constitution, but those who commit vandalism will be held accountable before the law.
The presidential election was held in Venezuela on July 28.
Venezuela National Electoral Council announced that the current head of state Nicholas Maduro was re -elected for the third six -year term, gaining 51.2% of the vote.
The opposition claims that the election results are falsified.
In the clashes of protesters against the results of the elections with security officials, 17 people were killed, including a soldier.
