The United States wants to direct Russia with Europe in the gas issue, said the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
“This is not hiding the United States, they directly say that cooperation with Russia is contrary to the interests of the energy security of Europe. They want us to straight into this area. To lower our interdependence,” RIA news the words of Lavrov, which he said at a meeting with representatives European Business Associations in Russia.
The Russian minister recalled that Europe depends on 35% of Russian gas. “But we also depend largely on those who buy this gas,” Lavrov said, adding that Russia and the EU should avoid politicizing the gas issue.
“We need to avoid politicization. And think about the fact that our people can really suffer from the depreciation of governments and the relevant companies in the direction of energy supply, energy supply and general energy security,” Lavrov said.
